pre-Production - Team Meeting 3

We discussed the ideas we had within our group and found that we actually had about 4 main ideas and that it would be too much to do within the time limit (2.30 mins). this was due to miscommunication and just generally and overflow of ideas. Therefore we decided to keep our concept simple by eliminating elements that we felt were over ambitious.

These are some of the notes from the meeting we had:

  • The subject decided that he wants to kill himself but gets saves by a girl or vice versa, possibly a love interest or something simple like someone acknowledging him.
  • he has the power that lets him blink and travel to a different destination to get away from his anxious situations or this blinking feature can be used at a transition between frames.
  • the subject could be writing the suicide note, this could be narrated and the visuals would reflect a day in the subjects life or just past situations that make them feel the way they do.

 The New Storyline
So the story line is now that there is a young woman who is isolated and suffers from social anxiety. She decides to write a suicide note in preparation to commit suicide. We haven’t decided who the letter is for, could be her boyfriend, a sibling or a parent. Whilst she is writing the letter she has flash backs to reveal why/how she got to where she is. To contrast the dark and the light within the production we decided that the subject shouldn’t die, someone will save her a love interest/boyfriend.

We assigned some roles to help guide us to what we should do next.
Talya and I will be making a start on the script
Abigail and I are making a start on the cast list
Jamie is doing the research into locations
Richmond is planning to audition to be apart of the cast too

We also started out character profile:
  • Student in her final year of university
  • From a poor family with 5 siblings
  • Her family live in the city
  • She currently lives on campus in student accomodation
  • Mode of transport: car
  • Not in a relationship, she lost her former boyfriend 18month prior
  • A sufferer of social anxiety and Depression as a result of this is is extremely introverted
  • A hoarder - cluttered room
